COVID-19 continues to overshadow 2020, and it appears the pandemic will continue into 2021. Therefore, it is with a great deal of sadness that our Board of Directors decided to cancel all club meetings and activities for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. We are all disappointed, of course, but our health and the health of our families and friends is paramount.
Cancellations will include all activities at the Destin Community Center (our “Roost”) such as the opening Ribbon-Cutting ceremony, the Big Registration, and all Tuesday morning meetings. Also cancelled will be the Tuesday afternoon T.G.I.T. Parties, the Harbor Party Boat Cruises, the Valentine Dinner Dance, the Mardi Gras Trip and our Fashion Show Luncheon. We don’t know if the annual Lighted Boat Parade and the Christmas Street Parade will be held in Destin this year, but there will not be an organized Destin Snowbird group participating in either event. Activities such as card games and clubs (writing, quilting, craft making, etc.,) will not be held.
We are asking our vendors to continue to offer and to post their special annual discounts to snowbirds on their websites. A link to vendors websites (those businesses who participated last season by providing door prizes for our meetings) will be posted on our new website: www.thedestinsnowbirds.com.
The Board of Directors has already taken steps to ensure that our Destin Snowbird Club will be in full swing for 2021-2022.

Hello to all. A few changes for Storage Unit Pick up and Drop off of your Stored Items.
If you plan NOT to be in Florida for this season, you may leave your stored Items in the storage unit until the 2021-2022 Season.

Include with your check: your Name, Home Address, Cell Number, Home Phone Number, and how many boxes and or any other items you have stored (golf clubs, bikes etc.) Also include the box numbers (example B14,B15,B16) that are on the receipt you received when you dropped your items off last Spring. ($8.00 per Box $20.00 per Bike)
If you DO plan to be in Florida for this season, the pickup dates will be on the website October 21, 2020.
When you pick up your boxes and/or other stored items and you plan to store them in Spring of 2021, we are asking that you pay for your stored items then, and you will receive a receipt to show for, when you drop them off in the
Spring of 2021.
The cost for storage: $8.00 for each 18X18 inch box, chairs, and golf bags. $20.00 for bikes.

Mary is a true “Midwesterner.“ Born in Iowa, raised in Ohio and now spending her summers in Michigan. She and her husband Joe have been spending winters in the Destin area for the past eight years. One of their six children lives here permanently with his wife and five children.
