2pm Eastern Time and 1pm Central Time.
We will be giving away a door prize at the end of the event.
We plan to play Mondays 8AM – 10AM.
Were we play: The Life Center
Destin United Methodist Church
200 Beach Drive, Destin
Our current season is canceled do to snowbirds being canceled this season. If you still want to play basketball please contact the coordinator for more information.
Our early season, with early snowbirds and our local players, is from November 2, 2020 though December 2020 (possible holiday dates with no play will be posted as known).
Our regular season starts Monday January 4, 2021 continuing through the end of March 2021.
Our program is open to local players 55 and older and to the snowbird groups in Panama City, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Navarre Beach. In the past couple of years we’ve had 20-25 active players, the majority of whom aged from 60-79. We expect most of our players from last year to return.
We play half-court, typically 3-on-3, generally using the rules set by the National Senior Games Association (NSGA). Teams are “pick up”, dark shirts against light shirts. The church has a strict rule – “no shirts and skins”. So as an alternative, we ask that you wear a dark shirt and bring a white shirt as well.
There is no charge to play currently, although that may change when the Life Center changes hands. It is our custom to take up a collection during our main season and make a donation to the church. Normally we ask everyone who can donate to give $30.
