We will be giving away a door prize at the end of the event.
We plan to play Mondays 8AM – 10AM.
Were we play: The Life Center
Destin United Methodist Church
200 Beach Drive, Destin
Our early season, with early snowbirds and our local players, starts the first Monday in November and continues through the end of December.
Our regular season starts the first Monday in January and continues through the end of March.
There will be possible holiday/event dates with no play. Please contact the coordinator to verify any closings for holiday/events.
Please email/call/text the coordinator to get on the basketball email list to be updated on play. We also try to play year-round if we have enough players to play.
Our program is open to local players 55 and older and to the snowbird groups in Panama City, Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Navarre Beach.
In the past couple of years, we’ve had 20-25 active players, the majority of whom aged from 60-79. We expect most of our players from last year to return.
We play half-court, typically 3-on-3, generally using the rules set by the National Senior Games Association (NSGA). Teams are “pick up”, dark shirts against light shirts. The church has a strict rule – “no shirts and skins”. So as an alternative, we ask that you wear a dark shirt and bring a white shirt as well.
There is no charge to play currently. It is our custom to take up a collection during our main season and make a donation to the church. Normally we ask everyone who can donate to give $30.
