Snowbird Legends Basketball League

The WCS Basketball group is a game organized to offer play to the Senior crowd who would/still enjoy this form of exercise and competition while in the Destin area.
We play starting the 1st Monday (01/04/27) and every week until the end of February. Those who are local or have a longer window of time, are able to get a head start or play into March if enough are available beyond the 2 months.
Play is 1/2 court, and teams are made up as fellows show up rotation after each game is usual. We generally follow the National Senior Games rules of play. 3 on 3, or if more are available, 4 on 4 or 5 on 5. We have both ends with baskets,
thus we can easily accommodate 12 to 20 players. Best to bring white and dark shirts, good court shoes etc.
There is no cost at play time, however it's customary that we chip in an amount at the end of Feb. for a presentation
to the DUMC for use of the beautiful courts. Generally, we've figured a $5 per visit as a suggestion.
Our ages range from about mid 40's to the oldest at 88. So don't use age as a reason not to give it a try. Several plyers
bring their Favorite BB, so you don't need any equipment.

The Golf Coordinator is asking the snowbird golfers to join an app called TeamReach. Get the app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. Complete the registration and use code: Destingolf2 when signing up.
The app will inform you about upcoming events, cancellations, etc.

DESTIN SENIORS SOFTBALL

Come join this recreation and fun activity. Open to 50+ years of age, MEN and WOMEN. Bring your glove and shoes. We play double headers on Mondays and possibly on some Wednesdays. We play starting on January 4th and run through the end of February. All games start at 10:00 AM. We car pool to games. Cost is $10.00 for the season.

June, 2026 Update
We will be offering one or more fishing trips departing from Destin Harbor during the 2026/2027 season. Last year's trip was a lot of fun and we would like to expand this activity. THE DESTIN CHRISTMAS PARADE, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2025 Help us kick off the Christmas season! We are looking for snowbird volunteers to be parade walkers behind our Destin Snowbird float to pass out candy while walking and greeting the crowd. The parade begins at 10 am. at the Destin Methodist Church at 200 Beach Street and ends at Stahlman Avenue. Volunteers meet at the Destin Methodist Church around 9:15 am. We also need volunteers to help transport walkers from the Shoreline Church (where walkers can park their cars near the parade end site) to the Methodist Church where the parade begins. After the parade is over, volunteers will have quicker access to their vehicles if they park at the Shoreline Church (140 Palmetto Street). Volunteers will be there to transport you to the parade site. If you'd like to participate, have fun, and meet other snowbirds, come join us.
