About Us

It was indeed an honor to serve as the President of the Destin Snowbird Club for season 2024-2025. It had some challenges at times, but overall, everything went exceptionally smooth, and I had a lot of fun in this role. 

We started the season off with the Ribbon Cutting ceremony on 9 December and registration immediately after the end of the ceremony. Our first meeting was on 10 December. We participated in the Destin Christmas parade and gave out candy as we walked the parade route. 

All of the Board Members did an outstanding job this season and they will be returning next season as well. Our new 2ndVice President is Bob Button and we brought him on board at the final Board Meeting on 25 February 2025.

The General Meetings went very well, and our final membership count was 949, which was about 50 less than last year. Our entertainment this season was excellent and the TGIT’s at Lulu’s was well attended. Our dinners also were an enormous success thanks to the arduous work of those involved in getting them set up. We had two Harbor Cruise events, and both were an enormous success with many Dolphin sightings.

We had our final nominations at our last meeting on 25 February, followed by the elections of the Officer’s for the next season, 2025-2026. The Immediate Past President, Ken Campbell, chaired the nominations and elections and did a fantastic job. Once the elections were final, the new President, Steve Ericson, assumed control of the meeting. Steve made a heartfelt speech thanking me for my time as President and presented my wife Flo and me with our new “Life Member” badges as well as a $100.00 gift certificate. 

I feel blessed that I had so much support from so many folks during this season. My wife and I are already planning for the next season. We are looking forward to seeing many of our friends next season and I wish everyone a safe travel back home and back here again next season.
